On the afternoon of 13 November 2025, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University successfully hosted Professor Mark von Itzstein, an internationally renowned glycomics expert and Fellow of both the Royal Australian Chemical Institute and the Australian Academy of Science, together with Professor Jianhong Pang, founder of JP Medical Consulting. During the visit, both sides engaged in in-depth and productive discussions regarding a forthcoming collaborative research project between China and Australia. This exchange marks a significant and solid step forward in the Department’s pursuit of international collaboration, injecting strong global momentum into the discipline’s development and the hospital’s overall advancement.
